Kathy DuguidKathy Duguid
A marriage and family therapist who lives in Palm Springs, joined the chapter at the kick-off breakfast on June 23, 2001. And she braved the summer heat to play in most of the chapter's events since the first one on June 30.

Kathy and her husband moved to the Desert a couple of years ago from Northern California. A marriage and family therapist for 15 years, she still maintains an office in Menlo Park - flying there to see clients every other week.

A golfer for about 30 years, Kathy has a sense of humor about her initiation into the game: "During my first lesson, I fell, knocked the golf pro down, and fell on top of him!" she said. "I saw him the next week in the club parking lot, and he said he had erased my name from his list because he never expected to see me again. If I can learn to play golf after that, anybody can!"

Kathy, who belongs to Canyon Country Club in Palm Springs and has earned a 16 handicap, plays several times a week. But she saves time for clients in the Desert. Kathy leads a Women's Healing Circle on Mondays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and is starting an evening group soon. Call or e-mail her if you are interested (318-0797 or idogood2@aol.com.

Kristina BrunnenkantKristina Brunnenkant
Golf Events chair for our chapter and president of Corporate Golf Management, based in Palm Desert. In 1995, she and her partner, Chris Shorr, launched the company, which organized golf outings for corporate customers. They recently opened a second office in Miami to serve East Coast customers.

A native of Kansas City, Kristina has lived in the Coachella Valley since 1989. She earned a bachelor's degree in marketing at Arizona State University in Tempe. Before starting the company, she worked for the Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage, where she was director of conference and destination services. She also was director of golf services at La Quinta Resort and PGA West for three years.

She says "I've been a golf club owner for over 10 years" in describing her game. Kristina and Chris also love dogs - Butch and Henry go to the office with them every day. The couple started "The Flying Hounds" with the owner of California Pools. They fly greyhounds from the Tijuana dog tracks to Northern California and Arizona, taking them to chapters of grehound rescue organizations.
