Cheri Sherrett
Cheri has been a member of EWGA since December 2001, and won the Chapter
Championship.
She works in Palm Desert with Re/Max as a real-estate consultant, where
she has been for 18 months. Previously, she worked at The Lakes Country Club
for more than 14 years. While there, she started a very successful rental
program, and the experience gave her the chance to move into the real-estate
business.
Cheri said her love for golf started after she had her son Nick 16 years
ago. She and her ex-husband bought in a country club, and decided to strap
her son in the golf cart while they practiced at the driving range.
Cheri attributes most of her talents to a fabulous teacher who taught her
body postures that related to her in a "woman’s" natural way.
She became the most improved player at her club in just one year by taking
her handicap from 33 to 14!
Cheri has continued to live a country-club lifestyle, nurturing her love
for golf. It has paid off. She played on College of the Desert’s women’s
team for two years. She won low gross at the 2002 Chapter Championship on
June 1, and will represent the chapter in Carmel. She recently won second
place at a 100th anniversary golf event for women held by the Southern
California Golf Association, losing by only one stroke!
Cheri loves participating in EWGA events, and has experienced the
pleasures of EWGA networking. She said she feels a bond with many of the new
friends she has met, and is excited that this organization shares her passion
for golf.
